About Nepali Typeshala Online
Typeshala is a typing tutor tool that helped generations of Nepalese learn touch-typing. Historically distributed as a desktop software for MS-DOS and early Windows editions, finding and running the legacy desktop application on modern systems has become difficult due to operating system updates and compatibility issues.
Our online version recreates the Typeshala learning framework in the browser. It features a complete sequence of lessons ranging from individual home row characters to full paragraphs, combined with keyboard animations.
Touch Typing Principles
Standard touch-typing training helps muscle memory map key coordinates without visual confirmation. Key touch typing best practices include:
- Home Row Anchor: Place index fingers on the home keys (F and J on QWERTY).
- Specific Finger Mapping: Allow each finger to only press its designated diagonal columns.
- Focus on Accuracy: Prioritize typing accuracy over speed first. Speed naturally follows accuracy.
